
The resignation of Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa, the Executive Chairman of Kanam Local Government Council, has received formal confirmation and endorsement from key stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the area. The decision was duly approved following consultations with party elders and critical stakeholders. Accordingly, the PDP Chairman of Namaran Ward, Kanam Local Government Area, Hon. Buhari Shehu, formally received the resignation letter of Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa in the presence of a broad team of influential party leaders.

Speaking during the meeting convened to address the development, Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa reiterated his deep appreciation to the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) for providing him with a solid political platform that enabled his emergence as Executive Chairman. He emphasized that his decision to resign was neither borne out of personal grievances nor dissatisfaction with the party.

According to Salihu, the PDP remains a political family he respects and holds in high esteem.Hon. Salihu explained that his action was guided by loyalty and long-standing political alignment with his principal(Gov. Mutfwang), whose decision he considered paramount. He noted that throughout his political journey, he has always upheld discipline, consultation, and collective interest, stressing that his current step was taken after careful reflection and in line with his political principles.
In a show of solidarity, the Namaran elders, alongside several prominent PDP stalwarts within Kanam Local Government Area, openly declared their realignment with the executive chairman. Their support, they stated, was based on trust in his leadership style, political consistency, and commitment to grassroots development.

Similarly, the G-10 pressure group, a notable Youth political bloc in the local government, threw its weight behind Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa, reaffirming their confidence in his leadership and political direction. The gathering ended with calls for unity, peaceful political engagement, and continued collaboration in the overall interest of Kanam Local Government and its people.
